"Great God"

Being part of the “Pasalamat Ng Katawan” or PNK was one of the wonderful feelings that I ever felt.

With God’s help Bro Eli and Bro. Daniel,God-sent preachers, successfully delivered a new wisdom coming from God. Knowing His words made me feel blessed because God said that the evil doers will not understand his words. Luckily I was able to know and understand it and I believe that God is showing His light to the congregation for us to be on His side always. Also, God always  provides us  new wisdom to give us strength to keep our faith and always  serve Him until the end for us to merit His promise eternal life.

During the three days thanksgiving, many members  endure keeping themselves awake to witness the whole day event, especially listening to every topics discuss by our preachers though the thanksgiving ended up late at night. The excitement and the happiness being felt by the whole congregation did not fade. It seems that no one felt tired or exhausted because of the joy that new wisdom brought to us. It gave us hope and the reasons to keep doing the will of God especially giving Him thanks. We’re very grateful to God because of His unspeakable gifts.  Happiness that we can’t put into words.  All we can say is to God be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

After the thanksgiving, Bro. Eli  sang a song of praises to God  along with the choir. I was on my way  to the van going to manila when I heard it. It made me feel like I wanted to go back inside of the convention center but the road way back was too crowded of the brethren that also on their way home .

The next PNK will be held on December 21-23,2013 God willing and I hope that I can sing along with them even after the three day thanksgiving.  Again, to God be the glory! Amen.

  "My photo journey inside the historical core"

Happy and exhausted. This is what I feel after the photo walk inside intramuros or “walled City”. The picture above is my team mates. We gathered here not just to take a picture but also to see the beautiful and the historical events that happened in this place. Let me show you some of the pictures I took using my point and shoot camera.

Walking inside the place called “intramuros” made me feel like I travelled way back to the past. As you walk inside the “manila’s historical core” you can already see big buildings made from the past.

This is the “Colegio de San Juan de Letran” established in 1620. One of the things that caught my attention while I’m taking pictures

I took this picture when we stop in front of a gym and ate grace went inside and she seems like looking for something.

As said in the title, “photowalk”, I took this picture while walking to another destination. The man fetched water and made his way going to his place.

While being hungry and sweaty, I saw this cute little kid. I wasn’t able to got her name but I was able to left her with a smile. She was playful and adorable. She always gives her sweetest smile in front of the camera.

Well unfortunately my digital camera run out of battery so wasn’t able to take many pictures I just took almost 20 pictures.

Me as a Christian Scholar

    Being a scholar is one of the stepping stones that I need to take in fulfilling my dreams. This is one of the 

toughest challenges that I encountered. 

    I remember when I was in high school, all those days I spent it like I was just in our house. I play games, watching movies, eating whatever I want. I don't need to study at all because when I want to pass my math subject, I just need to cheat and then I get an A on my card.

   When I move into college it was a very different world than my high school life. I learned so many things not just academically but spiritually. Being in this school helps me enhance my hidden skills that even myself don’t know it.

   I have found here true friends that understand the words of God, teachers who obeys the Lord’s will, and most especially  founders  that care and love us.

   A scholar is far different from being just a student. A scholar is the one who study and needs to maintain a grade just to fulfill their dreams. Before I forgot, being a scholar in La Verdad Christian college teach me to pray before the exam. This is now the first thing I do before taking the math exam.

   Thanks be to God for all the things I’ve learned in La Verdad Christian College!

Judiciary beats PhilHealth

The judiciary got the second place in the team standing after defeating the PhilHealth in UNTV CUP held in Ynares Sports Arena Pasig City.

Three consecutive win achieve by the Judiciary with the help of former PBA player Don Camaso leading a 24 points and 15 rebounds.

John Hall, Ariel Capus, Julius Caesar Rabino and Jose Midas Marquez score 57 points for the judiciary.

The event is spearheaded by Mr. Public Service kuya Daniel Razon. The champion for this tournament will have 1million pesos to be given to the charitable institution  preferred by them.

Two names in the TRC were linked to Napoles

      Dennis L. Cunanan and Antonio Y. Ortiz were identified by Benhur Luy as the contact person of Janet Lim Napoles at the Technology Resource Center.

     Eight supposedly bogus non-governmental organizations (NGOs) gained a total of P580.85 million in pork barrel funds from the 23 members of the House of Representatives and 3 from the senators namely, Ramon Revilla Jr., Juan Ponce Enrile and Jinggoy Estrada using TRC as channel from 2006- 2009 according to the papers given by Luy.

     Napoles talk directly to the TRC Director General Ortiz and his deputy, Cunanan, from 2007 to 2009. While Luy and the other staff of Napoles will do the paper works for the pork barrel allocation stated by Luy.

    Cunanan and Secretary Mario Montejo of Science and Technology (Cunanan’s chief) have not yet commented regarding with the issue.

Gadget Review (Sony Ericsson k800i)

 

Meet my k800i from Sony Ericsson. It was launched in July 2006. This phone features 3.2 megapixels with xenon flash. The navigation button of this phone is the joystick in the center.

   Using this phone I got a good quality image. This is so handy because it only weighs 115grams it was so easy to use.

  I also used this phone as a dictionary (installed java application). Surfing the net and for reading e-books.

An interview with a FSCAP(Federation of Senior Citizens Associations of the Philippines) officer

        Last night I held an interview with Mrs. Lydia Rubio, a P.R.O in a senior citizen organization called FSCAP (Federation of Senior Citizens Associations of the Philippines) in manggahan chapter. Mrs. Rubio was a jolly and a happy person. I choose to interview Mrs. Rubio  because I wanted to be informed of how an old woman manage her duty despite of being old and I also wanted to know the difficulties she had with regards to her duty. I wanted to call the attention of the government agencies concerned with the senior citizen community because the senior citizen community is having a problem regarding financial. 

                “What seems to be the duty of a PRO in a senior citizen organization?” - I asked Mrs. Rubio

“A tattler, because a PRO is the one who needs to know what is the latest news in the organization and then you need to tell every member about it.” - Mrs. Rubio said

                “How old are you when you became a member of FSCAP?”

"60 years old"- Mrs. Rubio replied

                “For how many years you were an officer?”

"5years"-Mrs. Rubio

                “When a person became a senior, does it automatically became a member of FSCAP?”

“No, only those people who wanted to became a member, not automatically”- Mrs. Rubio

                “What are the qualifications needed to become a member?”

“Only a 200php for the registration fee and 3pesos donation when some member die-Mrs. Rubio

                “What are the documents needed to bring in the registration?”

“Only a birth certificate”

         After knowing the qualification of becoming a member of the FSCAP organization I change the mood of the conversation by asking personal question about her being in this field.

                “Mrs. Rubio in five years of being a P.R.O of this organization do you find it difficult to manage your duty?”

“Yes! When there is a meeting in the city hall and then there is no money left on my pocket I have no choice to go there. It was so difficult because lack of money is a big hindrance for doing your duty. “

 “And sometimes the other senior were too stubborn it really gives me an headache, they were more naughty than the little children do.”- Said Mrs. Rubio while laughing.

The next question I asked to Mrs. Rubio is “What is the most unforgettable experience you have in being a FSCAP officer?”

“In Christmas, we celebrate it together with the other senior; we felt so much enjoyment there.”

           In this part I thought that the conversation we have is getting more serious until I asked her the next question and it really makes me laugh when she answered it.

“Mrs. Rubio, what is the achievement you got being an officer of FSCAP?”

HEADACHE! - Mrs. Rubio said while laughing

“That’s what I got being an officer”-Mrs. Rubio added

After I laugh I throw the next question

“What is your future plan?”

“When I die I wanted to be cremated”- Mrs. Rubio straightly said

            In this point I ended up the interview but still she continued telling me the experiences she got being a P.R.O.

She said that until now she still doing her duty, when Christmas she go the city hall and ask for some Christmas gift from the mayor. Some of them give grocery items but some are just selfish they don’t give anything. She named two councilor, they were both in showbiz.

Dear Kuya

  Untv-Radio La Verdad launched a new radio program entitled "Dear Kuya". The program is about   a certain issue send by the listener and they were going to discuss the issue. And the students from La Verdad christian college were going to do some dramatization based on the letter send by that day.Beside from reading it and dramatizing it Bro. Eli Soriano will give some spiritual concerning to the issue.

  The program is hosted by Mr. Public service Kuya Daniel Razon. The program airs every weekday from 9am to 12n.n.

   Last Wednesday I got a privilege to listen to Dear Kuya. The issue on that day is about a mother that has a problem regarding with her kid because she was likely having favoritism in one of her child.

   After the dramatization and discussing her problem Bro. Eli give her an advice that what she feel right now is not a sin because during the time of Jacob, Jose was his favorite son.

Why I'am Here At La Verdad Christian College

    

       Let me first introduce myself I'm Jenalyn R. Alvarez, 20 years old. I graduated from Commonwealth High School.

     During my High School days I admit that I wasn't able to make a good grade. My records are poor but still I was so happy that I got a privilege to study at La VerdadChristian College. I claim that I am one of the lucky people on that day.

     I am here at La Verdad because I take the examination and pass it surprisingly this is one of my reason why I am here right now. In the deeper sense I think the reason why I am here at La Verdad is because God wanted it. He does it, He let this thing happen to me and I was so thankful for that. Because I know that a person like me will not make it alone, I know that God help me pass that examination. Until now I know that God is still guiding me.

              Fashion event was held at La Verdad Christian College and it is intitled "OMG".this fashion event is all about the clothing worn by a christian.

The main objective of this event is to teach the student of what kind of clothing should they wear. And the clothing should be based on the bible.

Many non-members of the Church of God International joined the said event.

Christian Living Week

               


               La Verdad Christian College celebrated the CL week or the Christian Living week. it is the first time to celebrated this kind of event in La Verdad.

               The celebration includes choir competition and Christian dance competition. The highlight of this event is the competition in bible preaching. The participants were non-members. I was so happy seeing them preach the words of God though they were not a member of church of God international but still they delivered the given topic based on their belief and their faith.

                Beside from bible preaching is bible quiz bee, solo singing, and lot of fun activity held in this event.

 The overall champion goes to MCT 13.

                The celebration ended on Friday.

                            The song is about a lover who fell in love with each other at a young age. The broke up and say their goodbyes. But then they realize that the feelings that they had with each other is not so easy to bury.

                            Now everything is clear that the feeling that they had with each other is worth fighting for. The memories are still there they can even remember it. And everything will going to be okay when they decided to reunite again.

                            To start over again is the promise that she makes to fade all pain. Promise that this time she will love him better than before.

                            The time that they were apart they appreciate that it was a good thing after all. Being apart from each other makes think that they need each other.

                            Just like what they say sometimes we need to learn it in a hard way. Sometimes we just need to be hurt and to hurt the person we love before we know how much they worth.

Movie Review (Edward scissorhands)

          
















Done watching Edward scissorhands (Johnny Depp). The story is about an old man's invention name Edward. The old man started to build Edward with scissors as his hand. Until one day the old man decided to replace Edward's hands with human hands but then he just suddenly died. The old man and Edward were living in a big mansion until the time comes that the old man dies Edward learn to live their alone. Until one day a woman name Peg comes to visit that mansion were Edward lives to sell some beauty products and then he saw Edward and took him along with their house in the city. All the people near Peg's house love Edward because of his gardening skill. And then Edward fell in love with Peg's daughter name Kim. And then there is time that Kim asks Edward to do something really bad and that is to steal from the parents of Kim's boyfriend. Edward knew that it may cause him bad but he still do it because Kim ask him to. As time goes by people in their town became greedy they only want Edward because they will benefit from him. And in the end they hated Edward and they wanted him to get killed. And then Kim realizes that she love Edward more than her boyfriend he helps Edward by fooling those people and telling them that Edward is already died. But he wasn't he just choose to live alone in the mansion where he find peace.  

                                                                         The story was so great it really touches my heart. If I were given a chance to meet Edward I will tell him that “you did a great job” I see Edward as a little kid who just want to make his family happy. He do not belong in that place it only cause him pain. If I were Edward I would probably choose to live alone like what he did he just live alone in that mansion where he find peace and security. Living far from the place you came from is really big adjustment. This movie also teach that the thing that we see from outside is far different from what is inside. "Stopping by woods on a snowy Evening" (poem critique)

“Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening”

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sounds the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,

And miles to go before I sleep.

            The poem is about the author's journey and while  he is traveling he get tired and the darkness cover the place and then he saw an old wood place where he can sleep all night. That wood place is owned by the person he knows he is not worried about seeing him there by the owner. it feels like his on a very cold night there is a snow falling covering the wood place.

             He bring with him a horse and he think that the horse maybe wondering where he could stay there because there is no farmhouse near to that place.

            The horse shake his bell that makes the author think that the horse is maybe asking why the author bring him to that place. It was so peaceful there that he could just hear the wind and the falling snowflakes.

            In this stanza the author is enjoying staying there because he found a beautiful place. But he has many obligations to make. though he wanted to stay he must leave that place and go back to his journey.

           My interpretation is in every journey of our life there is a time that we get tired and feels like we wanted to have a rest. We can, but we must not quit our journey and go on fulfilling those promises that we make.
